This month, Corner Marketing has had the pleasure of working with two extraordinary charities. Both of these organizations have a vision to use sports as an avenue for helping people. Our team at Corner Marketing is extremely grateful to have met the hardworking individuals that dedicate their time to these worthy causes.
Layups 4 Life was founded by Dan Exter, a former cancer patient at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. You can read more about Dan’s story here. L4L runs annual basketball tournaments to help raise awareness and vital funds for cancer research and clinical trials at MSKCC. They raised over $20,000 this year alone! Dan’s perseverance, optimism, and generosity has been an inspiration to all of us.
Paul Hooker founded Challenged Youth Sports in 1990, which grew into RallyCap Sports in 2014. Their mission is to allow children of all abilities the opportunity to participate in sports. The inspiration came when Paul was coaching little league baseball in 1990. He noticed a little girl in a wheelchair that was frustrated she could not play.
Since that day, RallyCap Sports has grown to include 12 regional chapters. They currently help over 200 special needs families. Below are some photos we took at their last flag football game of the season. Watching these kids smile and have fun was incredibly rewarding and we are so glad we could experience this event!
